Clarice Marshall

CLARICE MARSHALL started to dance at age 11 after a couple of years of dreaming of being in the rodeo. Her parents were very happy when she came home from a first dance class and announced that she was going to be a dancer! From that moment she dedicated herself to becoming a dancer and moved to NYC in 1970 to pursue that dream. Between 1970 and 1988, when she joined Mark Morris Dance Group, Clarice danced in the work of many freelance choreographers, most notably David Gordon and Rosalind Newman and Dancers. Since retiring from performing, she has been teaching Pilates, GYROTONIC, and dance. She currently works at American Ballet Theater, New York City Ballet, and teaches Mark Morris Dance Group company class once a week. Clarice also holds both a BFA and MFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
