Excerpt from "Greek to Me" with Peter Wing Healey at the Getty Center in Los Angeles, CA
Commissioned by Los Angeles Dance Foundation, Bonnie Oda Homsey, Founding Director. Greek to Me premiered at this performance for the Gordon Getty Concerts, as the fourth program of the Getty Museum series entitled Ancient Echoes: Music and Dance Evoking Greco-Roman Antiquity and in conjunction with the exhibition Beyond Beauty: Antiquities as Evidence.
This concert explored presentational dynamics between Greek and Roman ideas influencing dance, music, and art, and illustrated diverse aesthetic and intellectual links between some major modern dance makers and the antiquities selected for the Beyond Beauty exhibition.
Funded by The Getty and a contribution by Dr. and Mrs. Daniel Vapnek.
