DescriptionThe Dance Group was presented with the New York State Governor's Arts Awards in 2001, alongside other artists and organizations such as Cindy Sherman, the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, the Society for New Music, and the Museum of Modern Art. Morris choreographed works for the Dancewave Kids Company, which were performed over the course of the event.
