Leah Barsky
LEAH BARSKY was born in Freiburg, Germany. She has been dancing since the age of five. Barsky received her early dance training from Coupe Theater Studio in Nanuet, NY. Further training included The Julliard School, New York State Summer School of the Arts, American Dance Festival, and California Institute of the Arts. She is proficient in classical ballet, modern, jazz and Argentine tango. She has performed throughout the U.S. and Asia with the Nai Ni Chen Dance Company and throughout Quebec, Europe, and the U.S. with the Romulo Larrea Tango Ensemble. Barsky is a featured dancer with the Chicago Lyric Opera and the Metropolitan Opera. She was described as "sensual and direct and…the most compelling" in a New York Times review of New Generation’s Black and White Tango in 2006. Currently she is one of the dancers of Tango House in downtown New York City.
